Richard Green's Profile

Richard Green, a 2008 New York Times ESOL Teacher of the Year Honoree, uses a variety of technology to teach and coordinate Speech Communication in three levels of oral ELL (English Language Learning) classes including, Basic Speech, Voice and Diction, Fundamentals of Public Speaking as well as Debate and Rhetoric. A native speaker of Spanish and fluent in Portuguese and German, he earned two degrees in education cum laude at Michigan State University. He also attended New York University and the University of Freiburg, in Germany, for two years, where he studied Spanish and German literature. As an example of his extensive use of technology, Professor Green has composed original storytelling videos and fables set to music to teach voice and diction, vocabulary and organizational strategies aimed at engaging a wide variety of audiences. He uses international podcasts to promote cross-cultural awareness through role-playing and informative and persuasive speaking strategies. At both his websites, www.profgreen.tv, and, cuentacuentos.ning.com, he has included hundreds of Speech Communication resources which are helpful for the teaching of oral ELL inside and outside of the classroom. Richard, a long-time member of the Speech and Communication faculty at Touro College in New York City, works with the Communication Club and the Debate Team. http://www.nytimes.com/ref/college/faculty/esol-teacheroftheyear2008.html Hometown: New York City. Giving my first "real world" presentation tomorrow on Tourette Syndrome. I prepared for it by using the same worksheet I had used countless times during your speech class. Thank you again Professor for giving me the skills to properly form a speech so that I am able to do so in a confident and professional manner.

oh wow! awesome video!great song!  If i were to do that at Synagogue they would throw me out, lol!  I used to go to school in Israel and I  hung out a lot in Aish, so a lot of those areas I'm familiar with. Also, I heard the Macabeats (a jewish music group)  put out a Rosh Hashana song as well.
